Rutgers Library

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Unity Construction transformed the Alexander Hall Library Reading Room and IT Offices into a Modern Digital Learning Center for the students of Rutgers University. A complete demolition of the library’s main floor was followed by all new interior construction. Highlights of the project include all new pendant and recessed LED lighting, Armstrong MetalBlade ceilings, wood slat ceilings/walls, a new circular custom made millwork help desk located directly beneath a circular drywall soffit and drywall ceiling clouds mixed in through out the space. New private offices, conference rooms and lounges were lined with Demount able Glass Fronts. The existing concrete slab received new selfleveling in order to provide a flush installation of the Connectrac raceways that powered the new systems furniture fed from the floor. Seven different carpet tile color schemes were installed through out the library in order to differentiate the multiple sections for studying.
